Privacy Policy

Narralo ("we", "us", or "our") is a language-learning application that generates AI-powered bilingual stories to help users learn Spanish. Our contact email is support@narralo.app.

Narralo is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. By using Narralo, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old. If you are under 13, please do not use this app. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly.

The "Kids Mode" in Narralo is a content-style toggle that adjusts the visual theme and story tone — it does not make the app compliant for children under 13 nor does it collect different data.

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name.

Learning preferences: We store your chosen dialect region, difficulty level, daily study goal, and app theme preference.

Vocabulary data: Words you save to your Word Bank, including your mastery level and review schedule.

Story history: Stories you save to your library, including the dialect region and difficulty used.

Usage data: Practice streaks and last practice date, used to show your learning progress.

Payment information: If you subscribe to Narralo Premium, your payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details — Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and personalise the Narralo service
• Sync your preferences across devices
• Power spaced-repetition review schedules in your Word Bank
• Show your learning streak and progress
• Process subscription payments
• Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset)

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

Narralo uses AI (large language models) to generate stories, translations, and vocabulary explanations. When you generate a story or tap a word for translation, the relevant text (location, context, selected word) is sent to our AI provider for processing. No personally identifiable information is included in these requests.

We work with the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Supabase — database and authentication (data stored in the EU/US)
• Base44 — AI/LLM processing platform
• Stripe — payment processing (Premium subscribers only)

Each processor is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

Your data is stored in Supabase's cloud infrastructure. We use row-level security to ensure users can only access their own data. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext. We use HTTPS for all data in transit.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data (email, preferences, vocabulary, and saved stories) is deleted within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or billing purposes.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Export your vocabulary data (available in Account Settings)
• Delete your account and all associated data (available in Account Settings)
• Correct inaccurate personal data
• Object to processing where we rely on legitimate interests

Narralo uses browser localStorage to store your theme preference and scroll position between sessions. No third-party advertising cookies are used. Supabase uses secure session tokens to keep you signed in.

Narralo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@narralo.app and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Narralo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
